After a spreadsheet has been around and used a while in your organisation, you might start to see the formatting becomes a random mess. You might have different people using different formatting for the same things and over time it’s just become terrible looking. But have no fear, there is a way to quickly remove all formatting including conditional formatting from a selected area.

This formatting is out of control, let’s get rid of it all.

  1. Highlight the area which you want to clear formatting from.
  2. Go to the Home tab in the ribbon.
  3. In the Editing section press the Clear button.
  4. Select Clear Formats from the menu.

Now you can start fresh and not have it look like someone vomited all over your data.
